Act IV: MEM Season 2 - a new aesthetic

Following the success of the Act IV: Season 1 Paint, the new season of Machine Embedded Memories opens on Wednesday 26 June 2024.

The expansion of MEM into Seasons allows us to explore different aesthetics and artistic choices. Each Season offers a visual interpretation of a theme, helping GNSS try to make sense of their universe through visual memories — helping us question ours through this experience.

Known as “Devices”, Act IV: Season 2 explores the opposing end of the MGXS Cosmogony. In Season 1, Paint is used as a technique or texture to humanise artworks, reflecting the human sensibility and influence in the GNSS world. In Season 2, the visual output is more machine-like, straight lines, smooth and shiny surfaces, order and structure.

MEMs are the visual memories of GNSS. These memories take on different influences, explore different themes, phases in time. Act IV opens up into Seasons, marking the start of new, unique chapters in our journey together. Season 2: Devices is an ongoing experience for GNSS holders, open through September 2024.
